About this development
Construction of Corinth Nyanisweni Water Scheme within Harry Gwala District Municipality in Kwazulu-Natal. CIDB 7CE. Purpose of project is to ensure the population of Corinth, Nyanisweni, Phongolo, Edgeton and Mzintlanga located within uMzimkhulu, is supplied with enough portable water abstracted from the local underground sources. The scope of works includes: Equipping of 2 boreholes including pumps and generators for each; construction of rising mains from each borehole; 2 borehole pumping station buildings; associated pump controls, isolation valves, scour valves and air valves. Construction of gravity mains ranging between 50mm to 110mm dia pipeline of 21 500m, new 10 communal standpipes, new 1ML steel reservoir as well as construction of new 600kℓ, 150kℓ & 250kℓ steel reservoirs. The village locations are: Corinth 30°05’42.37”S 29°43’37.77”E, Phongolo 30°06’23.09”S 29°42’59.20”E, Mzintlanga 31°06’14.55”S 29°42’09.14”E, Nyanisweni 31°07’09.00”S 29°40’50.97”E and Edgeton 30°06’27.84”S 29°39’25.24”E.
