About this development
Development of the Kibuka High Grand Falls hydropower and irrigation dam project in Kenya. The main project objectives are: flood mitigation, river regulation, water for domestic supply and irrigation, and hydroelectric power to generate up to 700MW and 1000MW. The planned HGF Dam will be situated 50km downstream of the Kiambere along the Tana River. Estimated to cost between Sh325 - Sh355 billion (approximately $2.6 - $2.75 billion).
