About this development
Construction works for the Mount Coffee Hydropower Project located on the St Paul River in Liberia, 25km north of Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa. The project scope involves the addition of four 10.5 MW Z-type Kaplan vertical turbines, and extension of the existing powerhouse and associated civil works without altering the dam or intake structures, whilst ensuring continuous operation of the existing units. Package 1 includes the following: Civil Works for the Mt. Coffee Hydropower Plant Extension will include: Powerhouse Extension – new wing and erection bay, mirroring existing design with minor adjustments. Water Intake Adaptation – preparation for new penstocks installation, removal of concrete plugs and rockfill. Tailrace Channel Works – dredging or excavating floor to lower tailwater levels. Workshop and warehouse. Site Restoration – rehabilitation of disturbed areas post-construction.
