Upgrading of the existing Mpuluzi wastewater treatment works, Phase 2, located near Carolina, Mpumalanga. The Value of R54 680 509,26. The envisaged scope of work to be carried out under this project to upgrade the Mpuluzi WWTW with an additional 2 Ml/day capacity which will entail the construction of the following new infrastructure: The existing inlet works is to be retained as is. Construction of one additional 15m diameter clarifier equipped with a mechanical sludge, construction of one additional 22.5m long x 22.5m wide x 3.5m deep activated sludge reactor scraper, construction of a set of three sludge drying beds, installation of a diesel generator as a backup power supply for the works. Construction of one additional chlorine contact chamber, installation of additional RAS and WAS pump sets within the existing sludge sump, installation of additional return pumps within the final oxidation pond to allow for the return of effluent to the head of the works from the oxidation ponds, construction of new internal roads to enable access to and within the works. Upgrading of the bulk power supply from Eskom to the works. The GPS marker has been placed at the existing Mpuluzi WWTW 26°19'15.0"S 30°48'06.0"E
