About this development
Construction and periodic maintenance of the MR271 from km 0.00 to km 36.42 between the N2 near Heidelberg and the coastal town of Witsand in the Western Cape. CIDB 7CE. An approximately 700m section of the road in Witsand shall be reconstructed using materials from commercial sources. In addition, a rapid-setting slurry shall be applied along certain sections of road to reinstate the road profile and/or to reduce rutting of the road. Due to the relatively good condition of MR271 from km 0.00 to km 18.30, this section will need to be resealed within the current financial year to meet the Employer’s project-specific objectives. A texture correction slurry shall be applied to the entire surface of the existing surfacing between km 18.30 and approximately km 36.42 prior to the resealing of the existing road. The GPS coordinates have been placed on the R322 at Witsand 34°23'36.2"S 20°49'34.6"E
