National Surgical Center, Mozambique

Construction of a state-of-the-art National Surgical Center at Maputo Central Hospital in Mozambique. The new eight storey surgical facility, spanning approximately 20,300m², will have a capacity of 475 beds, 19 of which will be for an Intensive Care Unit, as well as state-of-the-art equipment. It will also include 14 operating rooms, emergency services, imaging and a laboratory. It will also house various departments, including emergency services, diagnostic and technical units, inpatient wards, logistical support areas, and administrative offices. Funds from China will help construct and equip the new National Surgical Centre. Estimated cost: US$40.5 million.
