Construction of a 6km road, stormwater network and one bridge along Bathlaping Street in Olievenhoutbosch River extension 60, phase 1, Olievenhoutbosch, Midrand, Gauteng. CIDB 8CE. Scope of works: The project entails the construction of a 6km asphalt-paved road network of varying classes (Class 3, 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b, and cul-de-sacs) in Olievenhoutbosch Extension 60, together with associated stormwater drainage infrastructure and Bridge No. 3 over the Rietspruit River. Bridge No. 3 is a 50m long and 10m wide structure, designed as a three-span continuous reinforced concrete slab with a voided deck, supported on reinforced concrete abutments and piers. The substructure will be founded on spread footings on rock. The scope of works includes earthworks, foundation systems, and the construction of the reinforced concrete substructure and superstructure, as well as approach road tie-ins and river training works. It further includes the installation of a complete stormwater drainage system comprising pipes, inlets, manholes, subsoil drains, and outfall structures, along with the integration of sidewalks, pedestrian routes, kerbing, and service crossings.
