About this development
Construction of the Swartfontein Solar Photovoltaic Energy Facility located on RE of Portion 11 of Farm Shylock 256 J.Q and Portion 0 (RE) of Farm Kraalhoek 592 JQ, located near Rustenburg in the North West Province. The solar PV facility will comprise of PV panel arrays, single axis mounting structures to support the PV panels, Lithium Ion or Solid-State BESS, on-site inverters to convert DC to facilitate AC connection between the solar energy facility and electricity grid, administration buildings (offices), workshop areas for maintenance and storage, site access and internal roads, water delivery and reticulation, storm water management structures, perimeter fencing, security infrastructure and temporary construction phase access roads, laydown areas, offices etc and will have a contracted capacity of up to 300MW and will cover approximately 930ha. The GPS has been estimated at Farm Shylock 256 25°39'04.1"S 27°04'14.8"E
