About this development
Construction of the Babiana Hybrid Facility located on Portion 5 and 8 of the Farm Kleine Rooiberg No. 227, Registration Division Calvinia, located approximately 39km north of Loeriesfontein, Northern Cape. The hybrid facility will comprise of PV modules and mounting structures, inverters and transformers, a 900MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), site and internal access roads (up to 8m and 6m wide), operation and maintenance buildings including a gate house, ablution facilities, security building, control centre, offices, warehouses and workshops for storage and maintenance and temporary and permanent laydown area and will have a contracted capacity of up to 150MW for the solar PV facility component and the BESS up to 900MWh and will cover approximately 3708,92ha. The GPS has been estimated at Farm Kleine Rooiberg 30°32'32.1"S 19°28'38.9"E
