Engineering Building Renovations

Construction works for the extension and renovations project to the engineering building, Block RE at the Vaal University of Technology, Vanderbijlpark Campus located on Andries Potgieter Boulevard, Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng. CIDB 7GB. The extension entails an additional floor and post graduate centre on the engineering wing. This additional floor is to be constructed of a combination of In-situ concrete slabs and precast echo slabs. External walls and internal walls are to be constructed of brickwork with plaster and paint on both sides. Floor finishes comprise a combination of vinyl tiles and ceramic tiles. New ablutions with sanitary fittings and bathroom fittings also form part of the scope. The ceilings comprise acoustic suspended ceilings. The new floors are to be fit out with desks and seats. The works also comprise specialist scopes of electrical installation, HVAC installation, fire installation, etc. The scope further entails certain remedial works to existing floors, walls and ceilings, which comprise the removing and replacing of certain areas of vinyl floors, the repairing and re-painting of ceiling soffits, the repairing of plastered walls, columns, soffits and beams, and the repainting of wall and structural elements.
