Construction of bridges and roadworks as part of work package 2 for the Fannin Road upgrades in Ward 9, Molweni, KwaZulu-Natal. CIDB 8CE. Work Package 2 is for the construction of the following: Construction of Fannin Road from Ch.1330 to 2000. The road will be constructed to a 5.5m width, with Figure 6, type A barrier kerb, channel/fillet and a 2m sidewalk on either side of the road. Construction of a temporary detour road, Ch. 0 to 167, to allow for the construction of Bridge 2 over the existing informal river crossing, a temporary road and crossing shall be constructed adjacent to the informal river crossing. The temporary crossing shall be constructed before the existing informal crossing is removed. This road shall be 4.5m wide with full layerworks. On completion of bridge 2 and the connecting road, the temporary road shall be removed. Construction of the following 4,5m wide access roads with full layerworks & kerbing: Access Road 2, Ch. 0 to 80, Access Road 3, Ch. 0 to 90, Access Road 5, Ch. 0 to 75, Access Road 6, Ch. 0 to 50. Construction of 3m wide with full layerworks & kerbing Access Road 4, Ch. 0 to 30 connecting to Access Road 3 to give access to a business facility. Construction of Bridge 2 (60m) between Ch. 1436 and 1496. The bridge shall be 11.1m wide with barrier walls and sidewalks on either side of the deck. The barrier walls shall be precast units manufactured off-site. The bridge itself shall be modular units, with each module being 30m long with a pier midspan. The base for the bridge shall be anchors drilled and epoxied into the river bed with base constructed over these anchors. Construction of Bridge 3 (90m) between Ch. 1653 and 1743. Bridge 3 is identical to Bridge 2 except that it is 90m long and will have 2 x 30m modules.The GPS marker has been placed on Fannin Road 29°45'24.3"S 30°52'39.9"E
