About this development
Construction of the Matsheng Solar PV2 Facility on Portion 0 of the Farm Taung 894 HN and Portion 0 of Farm Panmure 849 HN, 17km south east of Taung and 7km south east of Manthestad within the Greater Taung Local Municipality and Dr Ruth Segomotsi District Municipality, North West Province. The closest villages are Matsheng, Morokweni, Molelema and Lonageng. The solar PV facility will comprise of solar PV arrays, modules and mounting structures, inverters and transformers, cabling between the project components, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), on-site facility substation, access and internal roads of up to 6m wide, temporary and permanent O&M and laydown areas and boundary fence and fire break/ perimeter road and will have a contracted capacity of up to 480MW and will cover approximately 706ha. The GPS has been estimated at Farm Taung 27°35'52.4"S 24°58'01.8"E
