About this development
Construction of the Morokweni Solar PV7 Facility on Portion 0 of the Farm Taung 894 HN, 12km south east of Taung and 3km south of Manthestad within the Greater Taung Local Municipality and Dr Ruth Segomotsi District Municipality, North West. The closest villages are Morokweni, Pitsong, Dikhuting, Mothanthanyane, Graspan, Manthe, and Lonageng. The solar PV facility will comprise of solar PV arrays, modules and mounting structures, inverters and transformers, cabling between the project components, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), on-site facility substation, access and internal roads of up to 6m wide, temporary and permanent O&M and laydown areas and boundary fence and fire break/ perimeter road and will have a contracted capacity of up to 480MW and will cover approximately 737ha.
