About this development
Construction of a self generation (behind the meter) solar PV facility with a capacity of up to 25MW within the Middelburg Mine Services coal mine footprint to supply energy to the water reclamation plant on Portion 9 of the Farm Hartbeesfontein 339, approximately 18km south of the town of Middelburg, Mpumalanga. An extent of 95ha has been identified. The scope of works: solar PV array comprising PV modules and mounting structures, inverters and ancillary equipment, battery energy storage system (BESS) utilizing lithium-ion cell technology containerised solution with capacity of up to 100MWh and associated infrastructure, access road extensions where existing roads are available, temporary construction camp, existing laydown area will be utilised, O&M building. The GPS coordinates are not known at this time but have been placed at the Middelburg water reclamation plant 25°54'40.0"S 29°24'10.9"E
