About this development
Construction of bulk sewer lines and pump station for Esilindini as part of the RBIG project: Sterkspruit waste water treatment works and associated bulk infrastructure, Senqu Local Municipality, Eastern Cape. The project value is R77 825 930,88. The scope of works entails the construction of bulk gravity pipelines, a pump station, river and road crossings, and a pump pipeline to connect the Esilindini area to the Sterkspruit/Tapoleng bulk sewerage network, and eventually, the wastewater treatment works. Works will comprise the following: Sewer lift pump station - There are two natural drainage areas within the Esilindini area that the proposed bulk connector sewerage system will cover. One of these areas will require pumping of sewage and gravity feed to the Tapoleng pump station, which will then be pumped to the proposed new wastewater treatment plant. Bulk sewer lines, both gravity and pressure, are estimated at about 15km of diameters varying from 160mm to 315mm to cover the Esilindini area, along with 207 manholes and other associated features and fixtures. The GPS co-ordinates have been placed at the Sterkspruit WWTW 30°31'46.5"S 27°21'24.2"E
