About this development
Construction of the Sweet Thorn solar energy facility and associated infrastructure located within the Matlosana Local Municipality, Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality, North West. The SEF is located approximately 11km north-east from Hartbeesfontein, 9km from the Tigane township and 31km from the town of Klerksdorp. The solar PV facility will comprise of PV modules and mounting structures, inverters and transformers, construction camps, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), temporary and permanent laydown areas, batching plants, internal and access roads, 2 operation and maintenance complexes and 2 grid connection solution alternatives and will cover approximately 9100ha.
