Construction of the Leghoya 3 wind energy farm located on Portion RE 1, RE 2, 8, 10 and 13 of Farm Blaauwkop, Portion RE, RE 3, RE 4, 5, RE 6, 7, 8, 9, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, RE 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 of Farm Holbank 265, Portion 4, 14, 19 and 21 of Farm Kranspan 131, Portion Re and 4 of Farm Leeuwenburg, Portion RE, RE 2, RE 3, RE 4 and 9 of Farm Meppel 264, Farm Republiek 123, Portion 3, 13 and RE 14 of Farm Roodewal, Portion Re 1, 4, RE 5, RE 6, 7 and 8 of Farm Vlakfontein 266, Portion RE, Re 1, 2 and 3 of Farm Vlakfontein 269, Portion Re 1 of Farm Weltevreden 289, Portion Re 2, Re 8, Re 9, 25, 26, 52 and 53 of Farm Witpunt 267 and Portion Re, Re 2, Re 3, 7, 11 and 12 of Farm Zwartwater 288 approximately 6km north-east of Ermelo, in Mpumalanga. The wind farm will comprise of 39 wind turbines, permanent roads will be 8m wide and over above this may require side drains up to 2m wide on one or both sides depending on the topography, up to 20m wide road corridor may be impacted during construction and partly rehabilitated to retain a permanent 8m road surface with 2m drain after construction and underground cabling, battery energy storage system (BESS), O&M areas which will include offices, stores, workshops and laydown areas and will cover approximately 15245ha. The GPS have been estimated at 26°33'16.5"S 30°11'11.4"E
