About this development
Construction of Phase 1 of a petroleum storage facility and a 3km pipeline connecting the storage facility to Berth 104 at the Port of Saldanha. The storage facility will be located in the Saldanha Bay Industrial Development Zone on a portion of Portion 23 of Farm Yzervarkensrug No. 127, near Saldanha Bay, Western Cape. The development is to be built in three phases, bringing the total potential storage capacity to 390 000m³. Phase 1 will consist of eight storage tanks with a licensable combined design capacity of 155 120m³, as well as auxiliary assets that include pumps, road loading gantries and slops tanks to operate the facility. The exact GPS co-ordinates are currently not available so the marker has been placed within the Saldanha Bay Industrial Development Zone, 32°59'02.3"S 17°59'10.6"E.
