About this development
Construction of the proposed 1 000MW natural gas to power plant; LNG storage and regassification facility located on a portion of Portion 1 of Farm No. 189, Uyekraal in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape. The project entails the construction of the following infrastructure: 1000 MW Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) to power plant; LNG storage and regassification facility; 400 kV overhead electricity transmission line, an access road approximately 10m wide and 1.4m in length and proposed pipeline servitude which will transport treated effluent from the facility and connect to an existing treated effluent pipeline. The GPS co-ordinates are 32°58'43.8"S 18°03'55.8"E.
